Asylum seeking
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I am sending this message of hope to draw your attention to my dire situation in Switzerland, after my asylum has been rejected there. You know the catastrophic situation that the Kurds suffer under the rule of totalitarian regime of Albaath party. I am as a Kurd and of thousands of victims of this policy, who were obliged to leave the country before being arrested by one of the security apparatus. This apparatus, which work day and night to stifle any kind of activities which are aimed at preserving the Kurdish identity, that is in the danger of complete assimilation, because of the racist policies of this regime. In 1998 I was a member of dancing group which is called ‘struggle group’, ‘Koma Berxwedan’ in Kurdish language, that deals with reviving and representing the Kurdish folklore, and because of my activities in this group I was under constant threat from the aforementioned security apparatus. This threat culminated in my arresting on 21.03.2006, where I stayed in custody until 28.08.2008. This has been the destiny of my brother (Hesso Mohammed Hassan), who was arrested in 2004 because of his affiliation with a Kurdish political party and his activities in this party. Until this moment we know nothing about him, whether he is alive or not! Although it is a general phenomenon, that the Syrian government suppresses the Kurdish people, but in 1991 pressures unprecedented mounted on my family after a cousin of us had fled the military service and given up himself to the Israeli army in a border check in the province of Aldaraa, where this cousin was recruited, because he couldn't bear the prejudice and atrocities, that he was in daily confrontation with. Because of this constant suffering I was no longer able to live in country. After a while I was obliged to leave the country and came to Switzerland, where I applied for asylum on 15.10.2008 but unfortunately my request was refused by BFM (Federal Office for Migration). His decision has destroyed my life, which has become worse than that I lived in Syria and deprived me from the simplest rights as a human being. Now I am in the danger of being sent back to Syria, which everybody knows how it deals with deportees, whose asylum cases were refused in Europe.
For this reason I am applying for asylum by your embassy with the hope that you regard my dire situation. Thanks for your efforts.
Best regards.
